Dan Desnoyers Inks Deal With Sony Music Entertainment Canada

DJ DAN D-NOY TEAMS UP WITH SONY MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT CANADA TO RELEASE SUMMER SESSION 2012 COMPILATION

Toronto, ON – June 13, 2012 – Sony Music Entertainment Canada is excited to welcome Dan Desnoyers (a.k.a. Dan D-Noy) and his label D-Noy Muzik to their family! The Montreal DJ has made a huge splash in the music scene, selling over a million copies of his compilations and has worn almost every hat in the music industry, from Musique Plus VJ to producer and sound engineer. A DJ at heart, he spins every week in different clubs not only across Canada but also around the world, touring the globe to discover future hits and maintain a special bond with his fans. He is also the official Canada DJ for the famous Pacha chain of clubs and has released a series of Pacha branded compilations in Canada. Dan will play an integral role in Sony’s growing presence in the Dance genre in Canada, as it’s key DJ and Quebec label partner. D-Noy Muzik’s first release with Sony will be Summer Session 2012 compilation out on June 19, 2012, with a pre-sale through iTunes on June 12, 2012.

Pulling together the latest, and soon-to-be hits, and including chart-topping artists, Dan is constantly on the edge of the dance music scene. Summer Session 2012 features the top hits for summer including an exclusive remix of the global smash hit from Michel Telo Ai Se Eu Te Pego!. It also features new smash hits including Afrojack’s Can’t Stop Me Now, Swedish House Mafia’s Greyhound, DJ Antoine’s Ma Cherie, Weekend by Sasha Lopez, Animal by R.I.O. featuring U-Jean, Ian Carey’s Amnesia and several of Dan’s original productions such as the track Drop the Bomb. The iTunes exclusive version also features 7 extra bonus tracks.

Dan has built a loyal following in Quebec with his series of progressive compilations, constant touring throughout the province, and a very active social media team. Starting his own label in 1999, DKD D-Noy Muzik, within the Donald K. Donald Group, Desnoyers eventually moved on to become the sole owner of the label, D-Noy Muzik, in 2003. “I’m really excited to join the Sony team who believe in D-Noy Muzik and are committed to supporting me,” says Dan. “For me, it’s a new adventure and I’m proud to be part of this big family! Working as a VJ with Musique Plus for a decade (from 1993 to 2002) and manager of the DanseXpress tour, Dan played the role of producer, director, sound engineer, mixer, remixer, and CD conceptor. His compilations have been born from working on DanseXpress, DJing and co-presenting on radio program Le Beat on Radio Énergie (now Radio NRJ), spinning at Montreal’s CKOI 96.9, acting as the official Canadian DJ for the Pacha mega-clubs of Spain, and even creating a compilation for the Alouettes de Montreal cheerleaders.
